What kind of work will I be doing?

The jobs are ‘front of house' which means bar and restaurant. You'll get to do both – and don't worry if you haven't done that before, as you'll be trained on the job. Other roles are available if you have supervisory or kitchen skills.

How do I get paid for the time I work?

You are paid by the hour for the hours you work, pay goes into your UK bank weekly.

What are the pubs like? Are they busy?

They are all stylish venues, with relaxed atmospheres, informal dining and pub bars. Most are traditional buildings that have been modernised. They are busy and exciting and places to work. The staff and locals are friendly.

Are there any live in charges?

Nearly all pubs in the UK charge to live in. ‘Free Accommodation' usually means deductions have already been made from your wages. The pubs we place you at only charge about 40 pounds per week this includes laundry facilities, all utilities and at least one cooked meal per day.

How long can I stay and work for?

Depending on your visa, you'll be required to work a minimum of 3 months, however some people stay for a year or more.

How many hours will I work and what time off will I get?

Working 40-48 hours per week over 5 day's is typical, you can request holiday time and days off with your pub manager.

How much money do I need for my trip?

We recommend that you have a least $3000 to cover any eventualities and access to a credit card.

When should I complete the application form?

The application form helps to determine your suitability for the program; so the sooner you register your interest the better, no fee is required until after the interview process.

Who will I share my accommodation with?

Other live in staff, for example: travellers from Australia , New Zealand , Canada , South Africa and Europe . They are usually a mixed group of around 8-10 people.

Will I be able to work at the same pub as my friend?

Yes, often travellers come in two's and pub managers are happy with this.

Do I have to start work straight away?

It is best to go straight to your pub, however if you have something planned for when you arrive we may be able to find you a placement at a later date. We must be able to contact you by email you whilst in the UK .

When will I find out if I have a place?

Once your application has been received we will contact you to arrange an interview (typically by phone). If you are successful you will need to then send the required documents and program fee, on receipt of these we will confirm your placement .In some cases we can let you know exactly which pub you will be at well in advance otherwise you will know 1 to 2 weeks prior to your departure.

Why do I need to send a full-length photo?

We like to let your UK employer know who to expect and what you look like.

What if we are travelling in a group of 4 or more?

Many of our pubs are quite close together so if 2 work at one pub and 2 work at another, you will have a better chance of booking your time off together.

Will I be charged for employment?

No, the program fee does not include a charge for employment.
